CM announces division of Gurgaon in four zones to facilitate development

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday said that the city of Gurgaon will now be divided into four zones. The move has been taken in order to streamline the development works in a phased manner.

The decision was taken in the meeting of the CM with industrialists and real estate developers at Gurgaon on Thursday.

The CM said that the state government has a special focus on the city of Gurgaon and vowed that the zoning system will benefit the city.

Khattar said that the previous governments did not work properly and there was a total collapse of the system in Gurgaon. He added that present state government is now doing damage control by introducing zoning system.

The CM stated that the present government did a lot of policy change in last 3 years. He said that many projects which were halted for long period of time were restarted and they are now at the final stage of completion.

Giving an example of Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway, he said that the matter was lying pending with the Supreme Court. After the State Government followed the matter with the court, the construction work resumed.

“The Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi would inaugurate KMP after its completion in next one-and-a-half month. Similarly, the difficulties being faced in the construction of Dwarka Expressway were also resolved,” said Khattar.

Khattar emphasised that it was a big decision to constitute Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority as it will now ensure the development works of the city. He stated that such kind of provision can also be made in Faridabad if residents demand so.

He informed that a dedicated authority will be made for Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway. He also said that the Gurgaon will not be expanded further whereas the present form will be improved.

The CM said that such kind of meetings will be organised regularly to take care of the grievances of industrialists. He also informed that Haryana has now become top state in terms of ease of doing business.
