During the second meeting of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) held yesterday, a multi-speciality hospital under PPP (Public-Private Partnership) mode received approval. Work has already began on the multi-speciality hospital, christened Sheetla Mata Medical College.

The meeting, held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, also passed other key decisions.

The GMDA budget for the year 2018-19 was sanctioned at Rs 1025.60 crore.

The chief minister said a special session would be called for holding discussions on Metro extension from Dwarka Sector 21 to Gurgaon railway station and the old city.

Under the Smart City Project, CCTV cameras would be installed in the city and detailed project report would be prepared by month-end. It was decided that a multi-level parking would be constructed at old veterinary hospital by the MCG and at old jail by the GMDA.

At the meeting, it was also decided that a six-lane road would be constructed from Umang Bhardwaj Chowk to Dwarka Expressway at a cost of Rs 11 crore. The tender for this project would be floated on April 30. The chief minister said the foundation stone for improvement of Atul Kataria Chowk would be laid on May 15 and a sum of about Rs 81.38 crore would be spent on it.

Similarly, tenders for City Bus Project would also be floated on April 30. The construction work of 328 bus queue shelters for City Bus Service has been started, he added.

Apart from these key decisions, an athletic Astro Turf [artificial grass turf] would be laid at Tau Devi Lal Stadium for which administrative approval of Rs 8.02 crore has already been given and tenders, too, have been invited. He said that area around village Wazirabad pond would be developed as tourist spot.
