After the matter of vehicles constantly plying on the wrong side of the elevated road in Ghaziabad was escalated to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Ghaziabad Development Authority has come into action. They are thinking about a way which will intimidate the drivers to take their vehicles on the wrong side.

The GDA is thinking about incorporating tire killers on the wrong sides so that drivers flouting the rules will pay the price for it. Two companies from Delhi and Noida have shown their interests in implementing the plans of putting tire killers on the roads. They have also given presentation ahead of the officials.

But, GDA wants to fix the tire killers in a manner that whenever there will be an emergency, it can be easily removed. They want this arrangement so that in case of accidents, people can be helped from wrong directions.

CCTV cameras will also be installed on the elevated road soon. A total of 10 cameras will be installed on the roads.

The GDA has come into action after the matter reached CM Adityanath. He instructed the officials of Ghaziabad to immediately take steps to check the movement of vehicles from wrong direction on the elevated road. The officials have started working in that direction.

The companies had made presentation in front of GDA’s chief engineer, V N Singh, but he did not finalise anyone yet. The matter has been stuck on the lack of provision to remove tire killers in emergency. The officials have especially pointed out this to the companies.

VN Singh said, “The companies which made presentation assured that they will soon make presentation of such kind of tire killers which will be easily removed in the time of contingency.”

“The companies informed that they will come up with the kind of tire killers which will be having locks on the pointed areas. They said that after removing locks, the pointed areas of tire killers will be closed. Hence, the vehicles will be able to run in emergency,” said Singh.

Singh also informed that tire killers were also installed in Pune earlier but it was not having provisions to remove it in case of emergency. He added that people had started protesting against those tire killers in Pune and later it was removed.

The chief engineer emphasised that seeing the case of Pune, they will only go ahead with the tire killers which will have facility to be removed in the case of emergency.

Tire killers are pointed speed breaker which is capable to puncture the tires of vehicles coming from wrong directions. These tire killers do not affect the vehicles which are moving in right direction.
