Sur Sanjeevani, a community-based musical group of Dwarka, organised a musical night based on the theme of Arabian Nights yesterday at the community hall of Ganpati Apartments in Sector 9.
Sur Sanjeevani , a community-based musical group of Dwarka, organised a musical night on the theme of Arabian Nights yesterday at the community hall of Ganpati Apartments in Sector 9. Desert-themed songs from films such as Razia Sultan, Reshma Aur Shera, Abdulla, Laila Majnoo constituted major part of the evening.
There were duet as well as solo songs, songs of the years gone by by the silvers of the community.
Residents from various societies — such as Jagran Apartments in Sector 22; Guru Apartments, Vidyasagar Apartments in Sector 6; Heritage Tower in Sector 3; Ispatika Apartments in Sector 4; White Rose Apartments in Sector 3; Mass Apartments in Sector 10; Ganpati Apartments in Sector 9 and DDA SFS in Sector 23 – came for the event.
Sur Sanjeevani president and also RWA president of Sector 8, PS Dhunta, said to City Spidey, “This is an effort to get the people of the community together — do rehearsals together. It creates a sense of camaraderie.”
On the occasion, eminent singer Madhumita Vishwas and veteran gazal singer from All India Radio, Kalyan Roy, were also present.
Chairman of the cultural association of Ganpati Apartments and also patron of Sur Sanjeevani, PP Bansal, said, "This is a platform for the singers of the community. We are a voluntary organisation and run on individual contributions. Our only aim is to spend some time together in the company of music.”
