Noida needs 300 traffic marshals on the road to set the traffic scene right, a demand put forward by Anil Kumar Jha, SP Traffic, GB Nagar, before Noida Authority.

“In Noida, there are 112 junctions. Right now, we can handle only 40 spots with the manpower we have. We are hoping that by next month, the authority will provide us 300 traffic marshals.”
The junctions at Sector 12/22 chowraha, Gaur Chakkar, Atta Market, Sector 37 chowraha, Model Town near Sector 62, Sector 10/12 stadium chowraha and several others bear the brunt of this shortage.
SP traffic added, “If we get the numbers we need, traffic marshals will be doing their duty in three shifts — right now it’s just two shifts.”
According to an official of Noida Authority, the demand is under consideration and chairman and CEO Alok Tandon has to decide on the numbers.
The traffic department has only 162 personnel in Noida. This includes two inspectors, three sub-inspectors, 43 head constables and 114 constables.
