Noida Extension: Homebuyers question issuance of CC to incomplete projects

The homebuyers of Noida Extension along with members of Noida Extension Flat Owners Main Association (NEFOMA) on Friday complained about the issuance of occupancy certificate (OC) and completion certificate (CC) to builders without any physical inspection.

The contingent met BK Tripathi, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Greater Noida Authority, to rake up the issue. The residents were from societies such as Vedantam, Newtech La Palacia and Amrapali group.

The homebuyers were livid while complaining that OC and CC are being issued without the restoration of basic amenities in the societies. They also complained that builders also ask for extra charges while issuing possession letter.

Annu Khan, President of NEFOMA told City Spidey that the builders get OC and CC from the authority without finishing project work including gate, boundary wall, electricity, STP plant, drainage system, park, lobby, club, electric fittings inside the flats, window panes, doorways etc.

Khan accused that the builders haven’t made firefighting system operational and people’s life is at risk in many societies.

Arvind Srivastava, a flat buyer of Vedantam said that flat buyers are waiting for the possession of flat for the past eight years and they have still no idea when they will get the flats.

“The builders charge 24 per cent interest to the buyers on late instalment. But, buyers, who are waiting for flats for the last eight years builder, do not get penalty charges from buyers according to the builder-buyer agreement,” Khan said.

Khan also said that we demanded from ACEO that officials of Greater Noida Authority should inspect the project site and if they find anything wrong in the project, then the occupancy certificate and completion certificate should be cancelled as per the rule.

When City Spidey had a talk with BK Tripathi, ACEO, he said that he will soon send a team for the physical inspection and he will take action on the builder after that.
