According to police, both the buses were trying to cross the red light signal at the circle at a very high speed and that’s when the huge collision of both the buses happened.

A Volvo bus and a DTC bus collided head-on with each other at Sector 21/25 circle in Noida leaving one dead and more than twenty injured on Sunday morning. The accident happened at around 6 am in the morning.

The deceased was identified as Ashutosh who was travelling in the Volvo bus. The Volvo bus had 50 passengers in it whereas DTC bus had 20 passengers.

All the injured passengers were admitted in nearby private hospital and district hospital of the city.

According to police, both the buses were trying to cross the red light signal at the circle at a very high speed and that’s when the huge collision of both the buses happened.

The police said that the Volvo bus was on its way from Farrukhabad (UP) to Delhi. The DTC bus was on its way from Noida to Shahdara.

Both the drivers of buses were safe and they were putting accusations on each other. Vipin, driver of the DTC bus, alleged that he was driving normally and suddenly the Volvo bus came in front of his bus. Vipin said that that he tried his best to avoid collision but it did not happen.

On the other hand, Laxman, driver of Volvo bus, said that the speed of DTC bus was too high.

Both the buses were damaged but the Volvo’s front was completely damaged which is also seen in the video.

Ashutosh, sitting next to the driver, was seriously injured. He was rushed to district hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Other injured patients were sent to Prakash Hospital in Sector-33 and other private hospitals.

Manish Saxena, station officer of Sector-20 police station, said that police rushed to the spot immediately after the accident and took the injured passengers to the hospitals. He added that both the buses have been seized and further investigation is going on.
