Two people died and a woman co-pilot of Indigo airlines was critically injured after the Swift Dzire they were travelling in was hit by a Mahindra Scorpio in Gurgaon on Sunday morning. According to the police, the incident occurred around 5.00 am inside the Cyber City- DLF Phase 1 underpass.

The female co-pilot, identified as 30-year-old Suvarna Sripalli Gayatri, was rushed to the Medanta-the Medicity hospital and is undergoing treatment. On the other hand, the deceased have been identified as driver Vinod Yadav and security guard Kishore Vishwas. The trio were travelling to Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport when the accident took place.

The police have claimed that the Scorpio driver was driving on the wrong side in the underpass. They further added that the Scorpio's registration number is DL 7 CZ 0099 and it's owned by a person named Pradeep Kumar. 

“A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code at the DLF Phase 1 police station. Investigations are ongoing to trace the accused who absconded after the accident,” Ravinder Kumar, Public Relation Officer of Gurugram police station said.
