Residents of high-rises between Sectors 74 and 77 met Noida Authority CEO Alok Tandon on Friday to discuss various traffic issues.

Amit Gupta, a resident of Prateek Wisteria, said, “When we spoke on the matter, Tandon said he will provide more than 200 traffic marshals and around 25 home guards to Noida traffic police soon.”

He continued, “Tandon also told the residents that the tendering process has started to make 11 foot overbridges at various locations in the city. He also assured us of constructing U-turns at Sectors 74,75,76 and 77. Hopefully, with this development, commuters will not drive on the wrong side.”

Six foot overbridges will be built on Noida-Greater Noida expressway and five at the junctions of Sector 35-51, Sector-71-72, Mamura Chowk, Sector-62-63, and near Sector-105.

Right now, Noida has 70 traffic marshals and 50 home guards.

In April, Noida traffic police made a demand for 300 traffic marshals to manage the city’s out-of-control traffic.

In a city of 10-lakh-plus population, there are only 162 traffic personnel to manage the roads.
