Dwarka: Parks in DDA pockets grapple with water scarcity, ill-management Parks in DDA pockets suffer due to lack of water

The parks in DDA pockets of Dwarka are in an abysmal state due to insufficient supply of water. Residents allege that the water scarcity has even dried up the plants and trees present here.

Former RWA president of Sector 7, DDA SFS flats, O P Can said, “The park located near our entrance gate is a complete mess and filled with dust.”

Residents complain that although there are more than hundred parks in the DDA pockets, most of them are in a dilapidated state.

They further said that they have made a written demand to the civic bodies to provide a tube well for the parks. However, the authorities are turning a blind eye towards their problems.

As per sources, nearly all the DDA pockets are under the jurisdiction of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC).

Ved Prakash, President of Rihayashi Apartments, Sector 12, Pocket 7 said that, “Although we have complained to the authorities several times regarding the parks, no action has been undertaken from their end.”
