Dwarka was hit by a severe thunderstorm on Sunday evening which uprooted hundreds of trees and plants in the sub-city.

City Spidey witnessed that nearly 50 trees were damaged in a stretch of about 100 metre in Sector 16. As a result, the whole stretch was blocked.

The traffic signals and street lights were also badly affected by the storm. Further, poles located near the streets fell down and windows of residential societies were damaged.

Delhi-NCR too was hit by a powerful dust storm this evening and the region also received moderate rainfall. Noida and other adjoining areas were brought to a standstill as winds were blowing at a rapid pace.

Even the power supply was disconnected at various places due to the storm. The metro services too were disrupted and commuters were stuck at the stations for a long time.
