With the rising heat, people are struggling with water scarcity in Ghaziabad. The local bodies of Ghaziabad are failing to meet the demand of potable water in the area. The water supply is being affected by constant power cuts in summer and faulty taps in the area.
Frustrated people complained to the district magistrate about the issue. The district magistrate has directed officials to take care of the water supply problem and clean the drains ahead of monsoon.
Taking cognisance of the complaints, Ghaziabad DM Ritu Maheshwari has sought replies from the officials. The DM also discussed the reasons behind water supply problem.
Maheshwari has ordered immediate resolution of faulty taps in the area and improved power supply so that people will not face water scarcity in the future.
The DM has also ordered all the local bodies of Ghaziabad to clean the drains ahead of monsoon by June 15.
The officials said that five of the taps are having problems and it has caused water scarcity in the area. They said the work to clean the drains is already underway.
