Noida Crime Branch's SOG dissolved as 'collection list' goes viral on WhatsApp Noida police

SSP of Gautam Budh Nagar, Ajay Pal Sharma dissolved the Noida Crime Branch’s Special Operation Group (SOG) after internal messages about alleged bribery and collections from local businessmen and traders became public on Friday.

As per sources, some cops in the department had a heated argument over distribution of money collected from different businessmen and traders. One of the cops however, sent the list of ‘collections’ and share of each police personnel to the UP DGP, O P Singh and he ordered an investigation into the matter.

The list, which soon went viral on Whatsapp, mentions monthly collections ranging Rs. 3000-Rs. 10,000 from different fuel stations, cement manufacturers, hotels, restaurant owners, developers, etc.

The list also mentions the cash which was distributed among cops to buy weapons and air fare for SOG teams’ operations in Bihar.

When City Spidey questioned SSP Sharma regarding the matter, he said that the SOG unit has been dissolved and the accused police personnel has been sent to the police line.

“An inquiry headed by Arun Kumar Singh, SP City Noida is launched into the matter,” he said.
