GB Nagar DM denies receiving NCPCR's letter to enquire in Bal Bharati incident

The father of a four-year-old pre-primary student had shot a complaint mail on May 5 to the HRD ministry against the class teacher and the school principal of Bal Bharti Public School in Sector 21, Noida, while alleging that his daughter was given corporal punishment.

As a result, the National Commision for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) wrote a letter to the GB Nagar DM to conduct an inquiry on the teacher and principal of the school.

"The inquiry will be conducted by District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, BN Singh and a report will be sent to NCPCR within 20 days,” the letter read.

However, when City Spidey spoke to to BN Singh, he said that he hadn’t received any letter from NCPCR yet and was not even aware of the matter.

On the other hand, parents of the victim claimed that they had received the same letter from NCPCR on May 18.

Sunil Sharma, father of the victim, alleged that the class teacher, Kuldeep Sood, had pinched his daughter’s hand hard to punish her, leaving a nail mark.

He said, “This is tantamount to corporal punishment. I also met the school principal on the matter, and she assured me that she’ll take action against the class teacher. But no action has been taken yet, and now they are pointing fingers at the behaviour of a four-year-old!”

He further added that then he had even written to the HRD ministry and the UP CM regarding the matter. Now, Sharma is hoping for justice in the DM’s enquiry.
