Mystery over a woman’s death in Holiday Inn, Mayur Vihar

A 22-year-old woman found dead in mysterious circumstances in Holiday Inn, a five star hotel in Mayur Vihar Phase-I, on Thursday night. Neelima, the woman, had booked the room 1137 along with a man, a friend.

A hotel staffer told City Spidey that the couple had booked the room on June 6 at 7:30 pm. Next morning the man had left the hotel saying that he would be returning after an hour or so, but did not. Around 8 pm he called up hotel’s reception complaining that Neelima was not taking his call. The hotel staff reached up and rung her door bell and didn’t get any response. They immediately informed the police.

The police found the girl lying unconscious in the bathroom. She was taken to Lal Bahadur hospital where she was “declared brought dead,” said the hotel authorities.

The hotel administration did not allow the media to enter the hotel, but told them that the couple had booked hotel after furnishing proof of identity. The Mayur Vihar Phase police has detained the man and are questioning him. The woman’s family members have informed the police that the man was in relationship with the woman for a few years but was refusing to marry her.

The police has sent the body for post mortem. Forensic tests were conducted at the hotel room to aid the investigation. The police has so far provided no reasons for the woman’s death.
