The residents of Sector-56 in Gurgaon observed Raahgiri Day for the first time on Sunday. The event was inaugurated by District Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh and Corporator of Ward-30 Mahesh Dayma. It was organised on the 1 km stretch at Golf course road near AIT Chowk.
People looked ecstatic as they waited for the event to happen for long time. The prominent activities included Hype Gym’s Zumba practice and laughter yoga by an elderly group. The national level players had arranged a football practice zone.
Two zones dedicated to weightlifting and wrestling was set up alongside road for fitness enthusiasts. The trainers began the event by providing light exercises to the beginners. They later gave expert level performances to entertain the Raahgirans.
An NGO showcased its young yoga practitioners who performed different asanas. A gymnastic group, which has also performed in a reality show on television, also exhibited their agility in front of the crowd.
To provide medical assistance, an ambulance from W Pratiksha Hospital was available at the spot.
