According to police, six teams with 150 police personnel carried out the search operation. The police carried out this operation to restrict the illegal use of drugs, prostitution and possession of weapons.

To ensure proper law and order after the recent gang rape of 31-year-old Kenyan woman, Gurugram police carried out a night long search operation in malls, pubs and discotheques located on MG Road of the city on Saturday and Sunday.

According to police, six teams with 150 police personnel carried out the search operation. The police carried out this operation to restrict the illegal use of drugs, prostitution and possession of weapons.

The police was also acting against the night-clubs operating after the stipulated time-limit. They were also successful in arresting four persons under foreigners act. A total of fourteen persons were booked under Section 160 (committing affray). The FIRs have been registered at police station located in Sector-29.

The police was getting a lot of complaints about many drunken brawls, molestation and rape cases. Most of the cases were reported from the notorious Sahara Mall. 

“We have arrested four foreigners, two woman from Uzbekistan and two men from Afganistan, who were returning from Ipsaa and Odyssey clubs. They were illegally staying in the city without passport and visa”, inspector Vikas Kumar, SHO Sector-29 said.

“We are conducting investigations how they were living without passport and visa and if the owners know why they did not inform the police. The women also told us that they had already informed the club owners that they do not have despite knowing he invited them on daily basis and did not even charge for their drinks and food”, Kumar said.
