A retired colonel in his early 70s was booked under POCSO Act [Protection of Children from Sexual Offences] yesterday for molesting a seven-year-old girl in Sector 9, Dwarka.
He has been arrested and is currently under investigation at Dwarka South Police Station.
According to sources, the incident took place in the lift of the society, where both the victim and the perpetrator resided.
The girl was coming back home after playing with her friends when she was molested in the lift by the retired colonel. When she started shouting, he threatened her. She started crying before her parents and spoke about the incident.
The statement of the girl has been taken.
Police is now investigating the CCTV footage of the society.
