ISKCON, or  International Society for Krishna Consciousness, organised Jagannath Rath Yatra today evening  in Sector 13, Dwarka.

SNAPSHOT: Here's looking at Rath in Dwarka...

ISKCON, or  International Society for Krishna Consciousness, organised Jagannath Rath Yatra today evening  in Sector 13, Dwarka . Lord Jagannath's decorated chariot was at the centre of the yatra.  Thousands of devotees from Dwarka and surroundings area joined in. Women and children, too, participated in large numbers. Singing and dancing dominated the streets of Sector 13 -- the procession reflecting gaiety that dominates  Puri around this time. 

Mythology has it that Lord Jagannath is a reincarnation of Lord Vishnu. The name is derived from two words "jagat" and "nath", which means "Lord of the universe".  On this day, Lord Jagannath and his two siblings, Balaram and Subhadra, visit their aunt at the Gundicha Temple.
