GB Nagar DM today issued directives to hold meetings with principals and management officials of private schools in Noida and Greater Noida to discuss the grave issue of students' security after the police arrested a 42-year-old life guard for allegedly raping a three-and-half-year-old girl inside the premises of DPS in Greater Noida.
The meeting for Greater Noida will happen on July 17, while for Noida it will take place on July 19 at the DM's office in Sector 27, Noida. On Sunday, the DM also formed a committee to look into the alleged rape of the girl. The committee is to present its report within fifteen days.
BN Singh, the DM, said, "We can't take chances with the life of school students. After this meeting with the school management, meetings will also be held between parents and the administration."
A three-and-a-half-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a life guard inside the school premises of DPS in Greater Noida on Thursday morning. The police registered an FIR on Friday evening after receiving the complaint. The accused was arrested promptly.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Chandi Das, a life guard with DPS in Gama II sector of Greater Noida. According to a senior official, the students of nursery were taken to the pool for their swimming class. The incident happened near the swimming pool during school hours.
