A 17-year-old student of a government school in Delhi was allegedly beaten to death by a group of students within the school premise. Police said that the incident occurred on Wednesday evening at the premise of SKV School in Jyoti Nagar.
According to the police, a minor scuffle between two groups of students led to the death of one student. The deceased was identified as Gaurav. A student noticed Gaurav lying in a pool of blood inside the school premises and informed the school staff.
As per the information, when the police reached the spot (SKV School), they found Gaurav lying badly injured.
“When police reached the school, Gaurav was lying in unconscious state with severe injuries. He was immediately rushed to GTB hospital for treatment where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” said a senior police officer in Jyoti Nagar.
In the preliminary investigation, police found that Gaurav was staying with his parents in Babarpur area. He had gone to meet one of his teachers in school. However, police are yet to find out the reason behind the incident.
“A case has been registered and we have started questioning some students and teachers as well,”a police officer said.
