To make people aware about the Himmat Plus App, Dwarka Police is reaching out to the door steps. Local police officials are meeting with RWAs and interacting with them about the app.

On Sunday, an event was organised at Park Royal Residency in Sector-22. About 50 people attended the event. Daljeet Rana, a resident of Park Royal Apartments, said to City Spidey that senior citizens and women are taking great interest in using the app.

Rana further said that people made the police officials aware about the other security issues in the area. He said that they apprised police about nearby service lane being used as parking place by the vehicles.

“As we live near Sector-21 Metro Station, there is always a chaos in our service lane. This is used as parking spot by cabs, auto rickshaws etc. We have requested the police to resolve the issue,” he added.

Rana also said that they talked about the senior citizens of the society. They asked police to make a data of senior citizens to keep proper care under the senior citizen safety and security policy of Delhi Police.

“We asked them that we have good number of senior citizens and police must focus on their safety and security. Police assured help to us. They will send some officials in couple of days with forms to make a record,” said Rana.

On the occasion, a resident of Sector-23, Indu Garg, who has been a nominated volunteer from Delhi Police (Police Mitra) and the one who coordinated the programme said, “We are approaching the RWAs and doing such programme. I am looking after sectors 22 and 23. More such kinds of programmes will be organised to make the area fully aware about the app for the safety of people.”

Police is also giving demonstrations about the app in schools as well. Teachers and girls are being made aware about the app. Recently, an awareness programme was organised at MRV School in Sector-13. Information about the app was shared by the police at the MRV School.

According to DCP, Dwarka, Anto Alphonse, the Himmat Plus App can be downloaded by the residents of the area living in the societies. Such programmes have been started by the police in Dwarka.

Police said that any RWA could contact the area beat officer or the SHO regarding the awareness programme with presentation about Himmat Plus App.

Himmat Plus is an app developed by Delhi Police for the safety of mainly women but anyone can use it. The user needs to register in app after downloading from store to get registration with key (OTP) which needs to be entered to complete application configuration.

As soon as the user of Himmat app raises the SOS alert from the Himmat App, the location information and audio-video is transmitted to Delhi Police control room. Also the information goes to the alternative number fed by the user in the app.
