Noida: Jal dept finds no sewer connection at Antriksh Forest

The officials of Jal Department of Noida Authority on Monday conducted inspections at two residential societies, Antriksh Forest and Civitech Sampriti, in Sector-77 of Noida.

During the inspection, it was found that there was no sewer connection at Antriksh Forest whereas it was chocked at Civitech Sampriti.

MP Pandey, project engineer of Noida Authority told City Spidey that the Antriksh builder had started to discharge the society’s sewage water through the pipe into the open area which belonged to Noida Authority.

“The builder has yet not taken the sewer connection from the Noida Authority and even the Sewer Treatment Plant (STP) is not functional yet,” Pandey said.

“I am going to issue a notice to Antriksh builder to take the sewer connection first and start the STP as soon as possible. If the builder fails to follow the order then I will impose the penalty and also take an action against him,” he added.

Pandey also said that during the inspection at the Civitech Sampriti, it was found that there was an overflow of sewer water at the chamber of the society.

“The builder had taken the sewer connection but we found it chocked and it was the reason behind the overflow of sewer water in the society,” added Pandey.

A resident of Prateek Wisteria, Amit Gupta, said, “The sewer water goes into the authority’s land which is around 20 meters away from our society. It can cause serious health issues. There are some slums in the vicinity as well. Their residents are also under great risk.”

“I verbally told the builder to fix the problem and also issued a notice to the builder for the same. If he does not fix it then I will impose the penalty within the 4 days,” Pandey said.
