I-Day: Army men, NOKs of martyrs offer floral tributes at Noida Shaheed Smarak

The 72nd Independence Day was celebrated with all excitement at Noida Shaheed Smarak (opposite Army Public School) in Sector-29 on Wednesday. The chairman, Lt Gen GL Bakshi, offered floral tributes to 38 martyrs of Noida on the base of the cenotaph.

The CEO of Shaheed Smarak, Lt Gen Gorakh Nath also paid floral tributes at the venue. He was accompanied by the next of kin of martyrs including Mrs Nargis Naqvi, Mrs Kiran Sharma, Sri VP Sardana, Mrs Savita Singh, Mrs Seema Anand , Col M P Chibber, Col V N Thapar,  Mrs Uma Nauriyal,  Flt Lt JP Sharma and Mrs Saritajit; Lt Gen Surinder verma, Lt Gen Jagdish Naraian, Lt Gen Khurana, Maj Gen DK Sen.

The NOKs of martyrs also offered flowers on the cenotaph.

Among others who were also present on the occasion included heads of Societies of Arun Vihar and Jalvayu Vihar, Principal and teachers of Army Public School; members of Executive Committee of Sanstha, school children and citizens of Gautam Budha Nagar.

The passersby also took interest in the function and they also joined people to offer floral tributes. At least 150 residents participated in the event.

The Independence Day has been celebrated at the Noida Shaheed Smarak since 2002. This year, the number of participants was highest.
