I’puram: City magistrate calls off Express Garden’s AOA election

The city magistrate called off the AOA election of Express Garden society in Indirapuram on account of the Ghaziabad Development Authority’s (GDA) findings that the number of flats mentioned in the Deed of Declaration (DOD) is lesser than the actual count.

A delegation from the society had complained the magistrate that the DOD uploaded on GDA’s website showed the number of flats lower than the actual one.

The city magistrate asked the GDA to look into the matter. The task was assigned to OSD VK Singh who informed city magistrate that the flats exceed by 131 in number. The DOD declared 536 flats whereas the actual number is 667.

“Around 131 flat owners could not have used their voting right that is why the election is postponed till the DOD is furnished as per the actual count of flats,” the letter read.

President of Express Garden’s AOA, AK Srivastava, said that after compounding of buildings, the number of flats increased to 667 but it was not updated in the DOD.

Srivastava further said that since 2014, the society is continuously asking the authority to revise DOD so that new flats could be included and fair elections are held.

Alok Kumar, President of Federation of Apartment owners Association, said that the Authority can improve the DOD. “They have the right and they should do it so that all the members of society can take part in the election,” he said.
