Gurgaon: Residents fed up with dust, pollution near Hero Honda Chowk

The pathetic condition of the road from Basai to Hero Honda Chowk is causing severe dust and pollution in the nearby area.

Many commuters and residents of Sector 10A, 37C and nearby area are complaining that the stretch becomes chocked in peak hours and they find it difficult to pass through it.

They alleged that the authorities have not addressed the problem as the work was pending from last seven years.

They pointed that the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) and Haryana urban development authority (HUDA) are not taking the ownership for improving the condition of this road.

The commuters said that the heavy vehicles also take this route to avoid toll tax which exacerbates the situation. It results in traffic congestion during peak hours

“Residents and commuters have been suffering due to the dust and pollution, leading to an eye infection. Despite several complaints to the authorities, no action is taken by an official”, said Sangeeta Singhla, a resident of Sector 9A.

A resident of Taksila Heights, Dr Gurpreet Singh, said that the stretch after the first red-light is in very bad condition with many potholes. He said that there are also encroachments on both sides of the roads which make the life of commuters very difficult.

As the stretch is always congested, the residents fear that they will face difficulty in reaching to the hospital during an emergency.

They also said that the lack of streetlights in the area also frightens women. The women get scared to use this stretch.
