The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has started development work at park in Sector-10. The park is situated in front of Suruchi and Rohit Apartments.
The SDMC has cleaned the grass and is currently doing levelling of the ground. According to them, the park will be completely renovated.
The SDMC is also looking after the open gym which was in very bad condition earlier. They said that the broken equipments would be repaired or replaced.
City Spidey had brought the pathetic condition of the park into light recently. The SDMC’s leader of the house and councillor of the area Kamaljeet Sehrawat had directed the officials to act immediately on the matter. According to sources, the development work was started a week back.
Earlier, the park was no less than a forest and it was not used by the community. People would not visit the park despite many equipments like swings, slides, parallel bar, horizontal bar were installed in the open gym. The park was full of wild grasses.
The condition was so pathetic that the grasses had covered the benches and equipments too. The steel gate was also in broken state and was lying on the ground.
