Delhi CM urges RWAs to adopt neighbourhood parks and gardens

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal today urged RWAs to come forward and adopt their neighborhood parks and gardens in order to revive them.

Interacting at Pandav Nagar with representatives of over 100 RWAs from different areas in East Delhi, the chief minister said, “We can’t achieve the target of beautiful parks and gardens without the people of Delhi. All RWAs registered under Delhi government must come forward to adopt their neighborhood parks and gardens.”

Speaking on the financial aspect, he said the state government has increased the sum given to RWAs for ensuring maintenance of adopted parks and gardens.

He said, “Earlier RWAs were allocated a lakh annually for maintenance of parks or gardens up to one acre, now that amount has been increased to Rs 2 lakh.”

Delhi government, in September, approved the proposal for doubling of financial assistance for gardens.
