Noida Authority will reward sector and residential complexes adopting scientific disposal of solid waste.
With an aim to promote adoption of right practices for solid waste management, the Noida Authority will now reward and honour sector and group housing society deploying scientific solid waste disposal methods in their respective areas.
The award will be started by this year (2018-19), said an official of Noida Authority. The winning AOA and RWA will be rewarded by RS 1.5 lakhs, while the second and third place winners will get Rs 1 lakh and Rs 75,000, respectively.
The awards will help in the treatment of city waste as per the waste management rules 2016, said Alok Tandon, Noida Authority CEO.
RWAs and AOAs that seriously work towards treating the waste in the most environment-friendly and scientific manner would be given a special consideration under the scheme.
According to an official, the interested RWA and AOA will have to submit their application till October 23 in the office of National Institute of Training for Standardization in sector 62.
