Police said that the duo had a troubled relationship, and that could be the reason for taking such an extreme step.
Deepa had gotten engaged several months back, and preparations of the wedding were afoot.
However, the relationship between mother and daughter got strained for the past few days over a "family dispute".
According to neighbours, the duo had a huge quarrel on Monday and they were found dead the next day.
Prema Bisht (48) was a homemaker, and Deepa (28) worked as a chartered accountant at private firm based in Greater Noida.
The husband, Balwant Singh Bisht, works in Hindustan Aeronotics Limited (HAL). At the time of incident, he was away at work. After making several calls to home in the evening that went unanswered, a worried Bisht sent his brother-in-law to check. The house was locked from inside, and when no one answered after several knocks, he broke open the door.
Prema was found hanging from the ceiling fan, and Deepa was seen lying on the bed. A suicide note, addressed to Monu — Deepa’s younger sibling — was also found near the bodies. Monica, or Monu, works in an MNC and lives in a rented accommodation in Delhi.
SP (city) Shlok Kumar said that FIR will be registered on the basis of the post-mortem report.
