The Noida police on Sunday recovered a decomposed dead body of a 52-year-old woman from her apartment in Supreme Tower in Sector-99. As per the police, the woman had died 20-25 days back.

The woman was identified as Babita Basu. She was a divorcee who got separated from her husband 13 years back. She was working with the Times of India. She has been survived by her son, who works with a private company at Bangalore.

Basu was suffering from kidney ailment for a long time. She used to have dialysis every week.

The station house officer at Sector 39, Amit Kumar Singh, told that Basu’s son informed the police about the dead body lying in the apartment.

Singh said that they initiated investigation after they received information of the dead body in apartment. He added that it looks like the woman had a natural death.

The residents said that the woman was living in the society for more than 1.6 years. They called her son after they began to found bad smell of the decomposed body.

Her son reached Noida on Sunday morning and broke the door of the apartment in the presence of the police. All of them recovered the dead body from inside the apartment.
