Dwarka is all decked up for Durga Puja celebrations. Beautifully themed pandals, thoughtful decorations and unique cultural programmes are going to be the main attractions of the puja celebrations this year. The Bengalis in the sub city are making all the efforts to recreate the magic of the festival similar to that in Kolkata. Kamakhya’s Magic at Dwarka Bangla Samaj Puja in Sector 6

Among various pandals set up during the festive season – Bangla Samaj’s pandal at DDA ground – stands out for recreating the replica of the famous Kamakhya Temple of Assam. Media in-charge and general secretary of Dwarka Bangia Samaj BK Barua said, “This is the biggest pandal in Dwarka. Famous artists from West Bengal and Mumbai will perform at our cultural events this year."

Traditional fervour at Dakshinayan Apartments' Puja in Sector 4

The celebrations at Dakshinayan Apartments in Sector 4, which is one of the oldest puja in the area, will stick to tradition this time. Secretary of  Dakshinayan puja committee Animesh Palit said, “Our pandal is themed after the famous Dakshineswar Kali Temple of Kolkata. The puja celebrations will follow traditional style from West Bengal.”

Kids with mental disability to perform at Aikotan's puja at Sector 4

A special performance by children from Anandamoyee Mental Disability and Handicapped Society from Kolkata will be the highlight this year at Aikotan O Kalibari Puja Committee’s celebrations at Sector 4. Amitabh Bose from Aikotan informed, “Every year, we try to bring forth a section of the society who needs to be nurtured and given special attention. We hope to have a big audience on Ashtami afternoon when these children will perform a musical show with singing and playing musical instruments.”

Tranquility at Deepanvita's puja celebrations in Sector 22 

The pandal here is titled 'Prashanti' meaning tranquility and peace. The pandal and the idol have been designed by the members of Deepanvita in green and saffron colours. Bollywood and Bengali singers Vinod Rathod, Monomoy Bhattacharya and June Banerjee will perform at the cultural events. Mayurbhanj Chhau dance performance from local artists will be the highlight this year.

Celeb singers at Agomani Puja in Sector 14

Famous singers from Kolkata Tulika Chakraborty and Sarmita Dutta Biswas will perform today and on Ashtami (October 17) at the Durga puja celebrations organised by Agomani Puja Committee.
