DM approached over closure schedule

Noida Resident Welfare Association (FONRWA) has taken up with District Magistrate N P Singh the grievance of the residents against the district administration’s weekly closing order in effect from January 1. It said they are facing inconveniences due to closure of markets especially on week-ends.

As per a decongestion plan, the district administration of Gautam Budh Nagar has imposed the staggered weekly closing roster according to which Industrial units, shops and markets in each of the seven administrative zones of the Noida and Greater Noida will remain closed for one day of a scheduled week day.

But the residents of the district, most of whom happen to be professionals, find the arrangement difficult to follow as they can take time off for shopping only on Saturdays or Sundays. Hence, these service class residents from zones where the weekly closure falls on week-ends are deprived of shopping.

FONRWA suggested some changes in closure schedule to N P Singh so that none of the residents is deprived of his right to shopping. On his part, the district magistrate assured them that the closure policy will be reviewed taking into consideration their suggestions.
