On Karva Chauth, married women observe a nirjala vrat (fast without food and water) from sunrise to moonrise. They celebrate the ritual for the safety and well-being of their husbands.
This year, Karva Chauth started at 5.48 pm and ended at 7.04 pm. The moon is expected to rise at around 8.15 pm.
