The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the plea of Amrapali Group’s directors requesting to allow them to visit their homes on Diwali. They will now continue to be under police surveillance at a hotel in Sector 62, Noida.

All the three directors – Anil Sharma, Shiv Priya and Ajay Kumar had filed the plea in the Supreme Court.

During the hearing on Wednesday, the top court asked the directors to remain in the police custody till all the relevant documents of 46 companies are submitted. It would be important to mention that a forensic audit into the documents of Amrapali Group companies is going on to find out if the real estate firm has diverted the funds for other purposes.

As per a home buyer, the auditors informed in the court, “117 computers were handed over. Out of which, 46 are not working. The Amrapali Group has also not handed over the passwords to the audit team. The buyer’s money was diverted to the director’s wife and relatives. Costly gifts including luxury cars have been given to others.”

The apex court has also asked to furnish all the details including passwords of the computers by November 12.

They were also directed to submit an affidavit mentioning details of all transactions and the amount received from Amrapali Group as salary and perks. The statutory auditors were also questioned for the furnishing of inadequate details to solve the case.

The forensic auditors had submitted details of homebuyer’s money diverted for other purposes in the first status report. Last week, the top court had warned Amrapali Group Chief Financial Officer Chander Wadhwa asking him to cooperate with the forensic auditors.
