A 23-year-old man, a resident of Great Value Sharanam, a high rise in Sector 107 of Noida, suffered bullet injuries to his leg after he was fired at near the Golf Course metro station yesterday.

The bike-borne assailants remain unknown and the motive too.

The victim, Sujeet Singh, runs a coaching centre from his house. He was going to his student’s house in Sector 37 when the incident happened. During the firing, his younger brother's son was also present in the car.

According to police accounts, Singh had stopped his car near Golf Course Metro Station to take a call when suddenly two miscreants came on a bike and asked Singh to roll down the window. When the victim refused to do so, one of the miscreants fired at him, breaking the glass first and then hitting the victim’s leg.

Amit Singh, SHO of Sector 39 police station, said, “The victim somehow managed to reach the Sector 37 police chowki. He was then taken to the district hospital in Sector 30 for medical attention.”

Investigation is under way, and, according to police, personal rivalry could be at play.
