In a tragic incident, a 25-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide, jumping off 22nd floor of a high-rise in Greater Noida West on Monday. According to police, the incident happened around 1:30 pm at Greenarch housing society.

The deceased has been identified as Priyanka Tewatia, a resident of Noida Sector 61. Police said she was accompanied by her employer Manju Devi, who is also the owner of the flat where beauty parlour is being run.

“The moment Manju Devi opened the main gate of her flat, Priyanka, who was standing behind her, jumped off the balcony,” police added.

When City Spidey asked one of the residents about the incident, he said, “After hearing the commotion, couple of security guards of the society took her to Brindavan hospital where the doctor declared her dead on arrival.”

Police added the woman was suffering from severe depression following her divorce three months back.

When we asked them about their course of action, a senior police official from the Bishrakh police station said, “Body has been sent for post-mortem. We are investigating the matter from all possible angles."

Manju Devi was taken to Bishrakh police station for further interrogation.
