After the grenade attack by terrorists in the outskirts of Amritsar, the police have sounded high alert in Delhi-NCR. As per reports, the security has been reviewed in Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad as well.

The Noida police claimed that they have not received any threats. However, the high alert was sounded as a precautionary measure to ensure safety of the citizens.

Noida police took stock of security systems in malls, market areas and other crowded places.

Different teams of police officials were seen checking security management systems in Logix Mall which is located near City Centre Metro station and Spice Mall in Sector 25.

Traffic on Delhi-Noida link road was slow in the evening as police were checking vehicles entering Delhi from Noida at Mayur Vihar phase 1.

The security has also been tightened in Ghaziabad and its border areas. Commercial and private vehicles entering in Noida, Ghaziabad and Delhi from different borders are being thoroughly checked.

“A general alert has been issued in Ghaziabad. SHOs in all police stations have been directed to alert the local police and to check security in public and sensitive places,” said Shlok Kumar, Superintendent of Police (City), Ghaziabad.

Three persons were reported killed and at least 10 injured in a grenade attack on a prayer hall which had around 200 devotees on the outskirts of Amritsar.
