Police recovered five laptops, five mobile phones, one bluetooth speaker and three cycles from them.
The Dwarka police on Wednesday busted a gang involved in day and night burglaries and arrested two men following the incidents of house thefts in last few months which left residents of the sub city in worry.
According to police, the accused were identified as Sanjay alias Sunny (23) and Govind (19). Five laptops, five mobile phones, one bluetooth speaker and three cycles were recovered from them.
“Thefts in houses were rampant in the area in the last few months. In order to prevent such incidents, we were directed to deploy sources to get clues to bust the gang and nab the culprits. On the intervening night of December 2 and 3, we received a tip-off from our informer regarding one of the persons involved in the gang residing in Vishwas Park and we can recover all the recently stolen things if his premises was raided. Without delay, we conducted a raid at his place and arrested both of them,” police stated.
When police interrogated the accused, both of them admitted to their involvement in the burglaries happened in the area over the past few months.
When asked further what they used to do with the things they steal, they said, “We used to sell them off to the scrap dealers and others on cheaper rates.”
