Two unidentified assailants opened fire on two individuals in front of Gardenia Glory on Thursday during late evening . Prima facie, it appears to be a case of rivalry.
A 30-year-old man was shot dead and another critically injured by two unidentified assailants near Gardenia Glory, a high rise society in Sector 46, Noida. Both were shot in the head.
The incident happened at about 7.20 pm on Thursday, and the police was informed by 7.40 pm. Both were taken to the district hospital in Sector 30.
The dead person has been identified as Anil, an active criminal from Firozabad, and the injured has been identified as Harinath from Firozabad.
According to Ajay Pal Sharma, SSP of GB Nagar, Anil had more than six cases of murder, robbery, arms and gangster act registered against him with various police stations of Firozabad.
“A few years ago, he shot down two persons in Firozabad — one died and the other was injured. He went to prison for the murder, but came out after a few months. The incident yesterday look like a case of rivalry,” Sharma added.
Spurred by the incident, SSP removed the present SHO, Amit Singh, from Sector 39 police station due to negligence.
