Unitech Unihome, Noida: Do residents feel at home?

Several flats owners of Unitech Unihomes in Sector 117, Noida, have been facing a bunch of problems ever since they shifted into their new homes. Shortage of power and water supply, and inadequate security are among the many issues that residents are grappling with. The situation could turn worse as although there are 3,000 flats in the society, only a handful of families have shifted into the complex till date.

Bhavya Kumar, a resident of Unitech Unihomes, told City Spidey that residents didn't feel safe in the society with just one security guard and two CCTV cameras for such a large society.

Another resident, Praveen Arora, told City Spidey that there are times when there is no electricity, while at times, they have to spend the whole day without water. "The builder has also failed to deliver the club house, which was supposed to be completed by July 2015," said Arora.

Mohan Singh, another resident, said that they were paying a monthly maintenance charge of Rs 1.75 per sqft. Despite the high charges, residents were receiving third-rate services.

When City Spidey contacted the society estate manager, Sunil Kumar, he said that the construction work was still under way and the electricity and water supply had been disconnected to expedite construction work.

Beside this, there were thousands of buyers who were waiting for the delivery of their flats. The construction of the society started in 2009 and the builder had promised that all flats would be delivered by the end of 2011. It has been over four years, but construction is yet to be completed.
