Noida Metro’s Aqua line awaits final inspection; operations to start soon

Looks like the Noida-Greater Noida Metro corridor, popularly known as Aqua Line, would be operational soon.

The chief metro railway safety commissioner (CMRSC) will inspect the line from December 11 to 13 and submit a final report within a week, after which the date of inauguration will be announced.

The corridor is likely to be inaugurated on Christmas (December 25) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, said sources.

“CMRSC is called after construction and other work of the metro line have been completed. After getting the report from CMRSC, we will announce the date of inauguration,” said an official of Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC).

The official added that before the inspection, CMRSC had conducted an inspection of the Aqua Line metro route last month and had suggested some corrections. “All those points have been resolved now and we have asked the CMRSC for a final inspection,” said NMRC official.

The inspection will be done from Greater Noida Depot to Sector 71 metro station and route. All the stations and railway tracks will be checked during the inspection.

PD Upadhya, general manager of NMRC, confirmed that the date of metro inauguration will be announced after receiving the report from CMRSC.
