Deficient number of lifts causes trauma to people at Antriksh Forest

The residents of Antriksh Forest, a high rise society in Noida, are facing a lot of difficulties with the deficient number of lifts working in each of the towers. As per the residents, only one lift is working in each of the towers of the society.

With this, the residents always face difficulties while commuting to their flats. Most of the times, they have to wait for a longer period of time to take the lifts. Also, the lifts are always overcrowded.

They are also worried that if lift breaks down then they will have no access to their flats especially in the context that they are high rise buildings. “The society has over 700 flats and ten towers. Around 300 families are living in the society,” a resident said.

A resident, Shivam Kumar said, “The residents including senior citizens and children, who live above the third floor, are facing lots of problems when the lift is not operational. “Residents of the society met with the builder’s officials several times. But, they only made assurances that and done nothing to improve the situation.”

“While coming back after leg surgery, a senior citizen was carried by his son to their apartment on the third floor. His son had no option but to carry him as the lift was not working,” a resident said.

According to residents, the construction work is still going on in the society and the workers also use the same lift for carrying the construction items. Due to overloading, every second-day, lift becomes non-functional.

When City Spidey contacted the society’s manager, he said that some parts of the lifts are damaged and management has ordered for the parts. He assured that all the lifts will be operational soon.

Residents of the high rise societies in Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida have already been demanding the lift act in the past few years.
