City Spidey, on November 30, had carried out a report on how the barricaded service lane was leading to wrong-side driving and also blocking access to the sector market. DDA took heed and action followed.
The service lane in front of Dwarkadheesh Apartments in Sector 12 — which was blocked by the DDA — has been opened up after a report on the same was brought out by City Spidey on November 30.
The concrete barricades have been removed for smooth access to Sector 12 market from societies in the vicinity.
MP Singh, a resident of Sector 12, Shubham Apartments, said, “This measure is a great relief for all who use the service lane to reach the market. Finally it has been removed after about six years!”
City Spidey, in its report, spoke on the problems faced by residents of societies such Ashirvad Apartments, Vrindawan Apartments, Upkari Apartments, Ashoka Apartments and others in reaching the sector market.
The blocked service lane also led commuters to drive on the wrong side to avoid the signal at Ashirvad Chowk.
Lauding the efforts of City Spidey, member of the managing committee of Ashirvad Apartments, P Menon, said, “We must thank City Spidey, which spoke on our behalf. Thankfully, DDA took heed and removed the barricade on Wednesday. Now, residents of nearby societies have more easy access to the market and also the hospital.”
