Delhi police registered an FIR against the builder, Today Homes, on Tuesday after a group of buyers lodged a complaint against it.
Buyers of RG Residency, a high rise project in Sector 120, Noida, lodged the complaint with Delhi police at Barakhamba police station.
“This case is registered with orders of the metropolitan magistrate. We initially complained to the Patiala court, Delhi, where the magistrate ordered us to register an FIR," a buyer said.
Vikas Singh, another buyer, said he had booked his flat in 2012 and made 70 percent of the payment. The builder promised to deliver the flats by mid-2017, but nothing happened.
"I took a loan and help from my father and then booked this flat. I am also paying an EMI from my salary, and yet the builder has no intention of giving possession,” Singh added.
Police registered the case under IPC Sections 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (deals with cheating) against the directors and CEO of Today Homes.
