Decreasing wind speed shoots up AQI to alarming levels in Noida

Due to the slowing down of the wind speed, the air quality index has again reached the alarming levels of 434 in Noida on Sunday. On December 11, the air quality was recorded at 420.

Regional officer of the pollution department, Dr Anil Singh said that the speed of the air is slow these days. The temperature is also declining. Due to this, the dust particles are not able to go upwards.

The visibility also decreased to 500 meters on Sunday morning. The air quality index had gradually decreased after December 11. After December 12, the index had reached 188 due to lightning at night.

Now, with the slowing down of the wind, there is a possibility of further increase in the air quality index.

The district administration is also taking many steps to check the rising pollution levels. They are carrying out inspections at many places. The officials can also arrest people for violating norms.

Noida Authority had conducted sprinkling of water. The district administration is also alert.
