The incident happened in front of the Adarsh Apartments, Sector-16B, Dwarka.
A 3-year-old girl died in an accident when she was hit by e-rickshaw in Dwarka on Saturday. She was immediately declared dead at the hospital.
The police was informed about the accident at 3 pm. The incident happened in front of the Adarsh Apartments, Sector-16B, Dwarka.
The girl was identified as Ikra , D/o Mazijur Rehman who is a resident of Adarsh Appartments.
According to the police, the incident happened when e-rickshaw overturned and the girl came under it.
“The victim was on road when the e-rickshaw applied brakes and overturned. The e-rickshaw caused fatal injuries to the girl,” said an officer of Dwarka Police.
“The e-rickshaw was in high speed. It should have been in a controllable speed so that it could immediately stop when there was any need. The driver did not take care and caused the accident,” he added.
The e-rickshaw was reportedly driven by Ankit who is a son of Chhotey Lal. They are resident of A-461, JJ Colony, Bharat Vihar. A case of fatal accident has been registered at Dwarka North police station. The vehicle has been impounded and the accused was arrested.
