It is clearly evident the claims made by the civic agencies to keep a check on the pollution levels in Dwarka have proved to be false as garbage burning is still rampant across the sub-city and people are getting highly affected by it.
The latest report of such activity comes from Sectors 4 and 12, where it is being carried out unchecked. In the video given below, a huge heap of garbage, majorly consisting of horticulture waste, can be seen being burnt near Sector 12’s Gangotri Apartments.
The smoke emanating from it spreads across the area, making it difficult for locals, residents and passersby to see and breathe properly.
What is more shocking is the fact the spot, where it is being burnt, is so common that anybody can notice it but strangely, it is yet to catch the attention of officials from the civic authorities!
City Spidey has been reporting on the issues related to pollution in the past and even now, when we enquired about it, officials from the authority concerned claimed that such activities in the area have stopped now. Moreover, they stated that a joint patrolling by the SDMC, DDA and police team is being done to contain it but sadly, that does not seems to be happening at all!
It is important to note that a team of Dwarka Forum on Thursday met chief engineer RK Singh and handed over a copy of issues related to civic amenities.TAGS: Dwarka news / local news / pollution / garbage burning / residents / DDA / SDMC / police health hazards / concerns / Sector 12 / 4 / Akhilesh Pandey
