4 unauthorised buildings sealed in Gurgaon

Taking strict action against illegal establishments, teams of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on Thursday sealed 4 major buildings located near bus stand, in Lajpat Nagar, Adarsh Nagar and Mianwali Colony. Flats were being constructed in these buildings.

According to the Haryana Municipal Corporation Act 1994, it is mandatory to take approval of building plan to commence any sort of construction work in the prescribed area.

Violation of the act results in terming the construction ‘illegal’ and such construction work can be stopped immediately, sealed or demolished as per the provision given in the law.

Earlier, the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon carried out a five-day special drive against unauthorised construction, illegal colonisation and encroachment across its 35 wards, which ended on February 5. The drive was carried out in the wake of growing number of complaints at different platforms including the CM Window.
