Amrapali buyers reach EOW office in Delhi to lodge complaints

Fed up with the uncertainty in the delivery of their flats in different Amrapali projects in Noida and Greater Noida, a group of homebuyers on Friday reached to the office of Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) in Delhi to lodge their complaints.

The Supreme Court had earlier directed the EOW to arrest directors of Amrapali.

With increasing number of complaints related to Amrapali group, the EOW has set up a separate cell in the office for homebuyers to lodge their complaints with all the relevant documents.

As City Spidey was informed, homebuyers will have to carry documents such as date of flat booking, cost of the flat, name of applicant, address, total amount paid for the flat. Also, if any homebuyer has lodged police complaint, details of that too are to be submitted to the EOW.

KK Kaushal, one of the flat buyers, said, “The matter is still with the Supreme Court. Since the apex court has directed the EOW to arrest Amrapali groups directors, we have some hope!”

Another Amrapali flat buyer Rahul Kashyap said, “Many flat buyers have already lodge complaints earlier. Now, more complainants will come to strengthen our voice against Amrapali directors.”

The apex court last month had directed EOW to arrest Amrapali group director Anil Sharma and two others who were so far under the custody of Noida Police.

Last week, hundreds of homebuyers threatened that they would stop paying their home-loan installments if the government did not release stress fund to finish the stalled housing projects.

As per the National Building Construction Corporation’s (NBCC) report submitted before the court earlier, as many as 15 housing projects were started in Noida and Greater Noida.

It has also reported that over 45,000 flat buyers have been waiting for their flats in various Amrapali housing projects.
